After being (sorta) announced at the Nintendo Switch reveal event, Bethesda finally fully announced that Skyrim will be coming to Nintendo Switch, with a few fun add-ons. Skyrim for Nintendo Switch will include amiibo support, and we got to see one in action. During the reveal trailer, a Link amiibo was used to drop a fancy looking Zelda chest into the world. The chest contained all the proper items needed to turn your character into an, admittedly awkward looking, Link! Included was the Hylian Shield, Link’s Master Sword and the sweet blue hero outfit from Breathe of the Wild.

Skyrim for Nintendo Switch will include the 3 official add-on’s which include Dawnguard, Dragonborn and Hearthfire. Also shown was the ability to pop off the Joy-Con’s and enable motion controls. Yes, you will now be able to wield a sword and shield and flail around bashing dragons with motion controls.

Bethesda’s official description of the Switch version of Skyrim:

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch includes all-new gameplay features like motion controls for combat and lockpicking, outfits and gear from The Legend of Zelda. Take down enemies with the Master Sword, protect yourself with the Hylian Shield or look heroic in the Champion’s Tunic. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch also includes all official add-ons: Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn. Plus tap other compatible amiibo to gain additional loot including those from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild series, 30th Anniversary – The Legend of Zelda series, Super Smash Bros. series, and The Legend of Zelda series.”

Bethesda announced Skyrim for Nintendo Switch will be out this Fall, but gave no solid release date. However, Skyrim for Nintendo Switch is available for pre-order at Amazon.
