Announced prior to E3, Dragon Ball FighterZ was given an official gameplay reveal during the Microsoft E3 conference. Phil Spencer introduced the title and trailer saying it was one of the games he was able to play on a trip to Japan.

Developed by Arc System Works, creators of Guilty Gear, Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 3v3 fighting game and unlike recent entries for the series, will take place on a 2D plane with 3D models much like Street Fighter or the aforementioned Guilty Gear. Characters confirmed during the trailer are Goku, Vegeta, Gohan Frieza, Cell and Majin Buu. We also get a brief glimpse into the 3v3 tag mechanics as several characters appear on screen at once.

Utilizing Unreal Engine 4, Arc System really brings the art style of the anime to life. Bandai Namco also confirmed a beta would take place this Summer on XB1/PS4. Dragon Ball FighterZ is slated for release in Early 2018.
