Ubisoft surprised many people by opening their conference with their brand new Nintendo Switch exclusive, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. As the official Nintendo website proclaims, “This is the story of an unexpected encounter between Mario and the irreverent Rabbids”, unexpected is the exact thought running through peoples minds. It then only gets more intriguing when the trailer and game play starts. Essentially what we are getting with Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is a mash-up of Nintendo and Ubisoft making an Xcom game, and honestly, it doesn’t look half bad. While I truly believe that Mario shouldn’t be forced into every genre (despite what Nintendo thinks apparently), its hard to complain when the final result looks like a perfect on-the-go game for my Nintendo Switch.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle will be available exclusively for Nintendo Switch on August 29th, 2017.
