CD Projekt Red is in an interesting position with Cyberpunk 2077. On one hand they have proven themselves to make a big blockbuster hit with The Witcher 3, but before the 3rd game, The Witcher series was relatively niche. They have always been solid RPG’s and you can see the evolution of the series working to the open-world smash success that is The Witcher 3. But this will be the first new IP they have ever worked on that’s not a part of The Witcher series and with their success comes a certain level of expectations.

Not only is this the first IP they have worked on not in The Witcher series, but it’s a complete polar opposite. Going from swords, magic and beasts to guns, tech and robotics is a big change for the studio, not to mention it’s also a FPS as well. Suffice it to say, we are all very eager to see how they handle this undertaking. We finally got an official trailer snuck in at the very end of Microsoft’s conference, and while there isn’t any gameplay, its nice to see some cinematic’s of the world they’re building.
