E3 2018 – The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit

DontNod has just been on fire pumping out a lot of games lately and The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is their latest one based in the Life is Strange world. However, Captain Spirit is a completely separate title even though it’s within the same world.

You play as Chris, a 10 year old boy who dreams of being a superhero. Chris has a big imagination and you’ll take him on plenty of adventures flying space ships and fighting aliens. From what I gather of the trailer, Chris’ mother has passed and his Dad may have a drinking problem which will be strong narrative points I’m sure within the game.

If it doesn’t sound interesting enough already, DontNods official Tumblr page sweetened the pot: “Words cannot accurately express how excited we are to reveal The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit to you! This self-contained and completely free narrative Life is Strange experience will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam) on June 26, 2018. You read that right – you won’t have to pay anything at all to get this stand-alone adventure that will also give you glimpse into Life is Strange 2’s brand-new story… but only if you’re clever enough to piece the clues together!”

So not only do you get this neat looking story for free, you also get to search for some clues for a glimpse into the next story in Life is Strange 2. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me. Check out the trailer below!

Update: We got another trailer from the Square Enix conference which featured a little commentary from Michel Koch and Raoul Barbet as they talked a bit about the game and how it ties into The Life is Strange story. Check out the trailer below.
