E3 2018 – Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 was announced at the Xbox E3 conference today.
Dying Light 2 seems to be focusing on the human conflict where your actions will heavily impact the world and how you interact with it, with multiple factions you can side with. The excellent free running mechanics are back and look better than ever with even more verticality and complex world design.
The gameplay demo showcases 2 possible scenarios, siding with both the peacekeepers and another faction who has been hogging water. Siding with the peacekeepers will give them more control over the city which might backfire later. Siding with the other group will get them to giveaway some water but attract bandit groups.
Writer Chris Avellone will be taking the lead with the story direction, his previous works includes Prey, Knights of the Old Republic and Fallout New Vegas.
Zombies and Volatile will still have a role in Dying Light 2 but the trailer only showed a small glimpse of them hinting at a slightly smaller role for now. The original Dying Light is one of my favorite zombie games in years with a refreshing movement system and a dynamic day night cycle that changes the gameplay in drastic ways.
No release date has been set for Dying Light 2 but it is expected to come out on Xbox One, PC and Playstation 4
