Indie Wednesday – Fight Kin, Rewrite Within, and Soak Your Sins

Way Too Many Indies Wednesdays

Welcome to Way Too Many Indies Wednesdays where we highlight four recently released or upcoming indie games that have caught our eye. In a market where so many games can get lost in the shuffle, some true gems can sneak right past us without us knowing. These are the four games this week that we want to keep our eye on, and we think you should as well!

This week’s collection is brought to you by Oliver Shellding. In spite of there being two metroidvanias and one more deeply confusing indie title in the mix, Ollie has chosen to focus on the games that give you pause for just a moment. Maybe it’s the title of the game, maybe it’s the banner art, or maybe it’s even seeing who is bringing the latest games to the plate. In any case, in the growing fight for attention in the gaming spotlight, being able to point to a fistful of potential titles still remains an exciting and enjoyable adventure, and, with a little luck, some of these will become anticipation candy for you as well!

At Fateโ€™s End is an action-adventure game where you fight the ones you love. Wield the legendary God Sword Aesus as Shan, the deft young heiress of the Hemlock clan. Solve intricate narrative puzzles, uncover painful truths, and hone both your blade skills and knowledge to face your estranged siblings in intense, emotional duels – and ultimately decide your familyโ€™s fate.” A compelling looking game both in terms of aesthetic design and concept, At Fate’s End looks to be completely engrossing with a skill tree that branches whether you fight or reconsile with your extended family members. Also, if Thunder Lotus sounds familiar, they’re the team behind Spiritfarer, so the likelihood of unbridled sobbing is just on the horizon!

“Discover your own legend in LUCID. Platform through a crystalline world torn apart by calamity, absorb powerful abilities that expand movement and enhance combat against a diverse cast of enemies and bosses, all in gorgeous pixel art inspired by the golden age of 2D sidescrollers.” LUCID has been on the metroidvania radar for some time now, with stellar design that evokes Hyperlight Drifter mythology with some complex and exciting action. The Kickstarter (now finished) states the release date to be last year, but, as we all know, good things take time to cook.

Chronoscript: The Endless End

Chronoscript: The Endless End is an exploration-based action-adventure game where you, an editor trapped within a manuscript, must unravel a thousand-year story that writes itself beyond its endโ€”across 2D pages and a 3D manor.” While details are scant, I know three things for certain. One, the artwork is delicious and the effect of post-medieval design within the world is perfect for the aesthetic and concept. Two, Shueisha Games has been making bigger and bigger swings with publishing games that are incredible. Three…the game has a big lady. Big ladies are in right now.

Psychotic Bathtub

Psychotic Bathtub

Developer: natsha
Publisher: natsha
Genre: Psychological Horror, Dark Humor
Platforms: PC (Steam)
Release Date: 2026

“Have a psychotic episode in your bathtub. Argue with a rubber duck, flood your bathroom and drown Jesus. Find your very own ending โ€“ or all of them.” Look, I have a tremendous soft spot for when developers want to express something that confounds my very existence. Natsha gets in front of the eight ball and says that this is not an accurate representation of mental health and is meant for entertainment purposes only. With that in mind, it’s completely unhinged and has so much potential for an enjoyable, unsettling experience. Plus, who hasn’t had a bit of a mental break when you’re alone in the tub? I’m hoping it’s a few of you, because otherwise I’m desperately alone!

And thatโ€™ll do it for this iteration of Way Too Many Indies Wednesday! Go ahead and wishlist those that caught your eye; that kind of metric really matters for developers and publishers. Also, show support for these games in your own way: follow the devs if you can and spread the word so that these dreams can come rushing forward even faster. Thereโ€™s always something for someone, so donโ€™t forget to always be searching for the next big game that really speaks to you. If you think thereโ€™s a game that should be considered for our roundup, be sure to let u know! Have fun, and keep the indie parade going!
